Overview
Spend some time listening to the career highlights of a successful engineer!
David Slowinski, retired CNH Industrial Engineer with extensive experience in simulation and product development, talks with Dr. Tim Hunter, CEO and Founder of Wolf Star Technologies.
David’s career highlights paint a fascinating picture of the intersection of engineering, simulation, and product development. He contributed significantly to their success, particularly through his work in simulation and product design. The interview dives into tools used for design and analysis at CNH, specifically True-Load which enables real dynamic load calculations, vital for re-design, fatigue and optimization.
With David’s extensive experience in this field, he shared how such tools not only improved product performance but also helped in ensuring the longevity and reliability of the equipment. The design process that David and his team followed emphasized accuracy in simulation, an essential aspect in a field where safety, efficiency, and durability are paramount.
One of the highlights he worked on was a Front-End Loader Linkage Durability Analysis. He will go into detail on his efforts with this product. The discussion will be inspirational for those interested in how engineering tools can drive real-world success and innovation. The lessons from David’s career, particularly his role in the development and application of advanced simulation techniques, offer valuable insights into the challenges and rewards of working in the engineering field.
David Slowinski spent nearly 35 years at CNH Industrial, contributing across multiple engineering disciplines. He began in Design Analysis, performing structural validation on agricultural and construction equipment. Later, he joined Ag Product Development, working on planter design, including the Case IH vacuum seed meter. He then became Change Management Coordinator for Combine Engineering, overseeing design change processes. Returning to Design Analysis, he focused on skid steer and compact track loaders, culminating in Project Minotaur, the world’s first fully integrated compact loader-dozer. For this project, all major structural components were evaluated using loads developed with True-Load. His expertise in structural evaluation and virtual validation shaped key innovations in CNH’s equipment lineup.
