Coreform has a strong presence at the Workshop on the Theory and Application of Isogeometric Analysis

OREM, UTAH — Coreform LLC, the leading developer of commercial spline-based simulation software, announces that Dr. Michael A. Scott,  President and co-founder of Coreform,  and Dr. Thomas J.R. Hughes, Senior Advisor to Coreform,  will  both be presenting plenary presentations at the Workshop on the Theory and Application of Isogeometric Analysis.

Tianyuan Mathematical Center in Northeast China will hold “Workshop on the Theory and Application of Isogeometric Analysis” from July 20 to July 22, 2021, on the campus of Jilin University in Changchun, China. The purpose of this workshop is to bring together people working on Isogeometric Analysis as well as cross-disciplinary areas, to improve possibilities for cooperation, helping the young scholars to broaden their horizons.

Dr. Michael A. Scott will discuss the lessons he has learned over seven years of commercial isogeometric code development at Coreform. Dr. Scott is a Professor at BYU and the President of Coreform LLC, a U.S. company that is preparing to release a commercial IGA code in 2021. He will describe some of the difficulties and triumphs they have faced while developing an isogeometric solver and his vision for the future of isogeometric analysis.

Dr. Thomas J.R. Hughes will open the Workshop with a presentation on Isogeometric Analysis: Mathematical and Engineering Perspectives. Dr. Hughes is the Peter O’Donnell Jr. Chair in Computational and Applied Mathematics at The University of Texas at Austin and a Senior Advisor to Coreform and is world renowned as the father of Isogeometric Analysis.
