What is a Digital Twin?

The Digital Twin is a methodology that leverages the complementary strengths of digital simulation (CAE) and measured in-service physical data (IIoT) to effectively resolve performance issues and predict behavior throughout a system’s lifecycle.

The digital twin is an integrated multi-physics, multi-scale set of simulations of an as-built system that uses the best available currently-correct digital models, sensor information, and input data to mirror and predict the activities and performance of the system over the life of its corresponding physical twin.
