Development and Validation of a Mathematical Model for Predicting the Performance of Rotary Hammer Drills

To achieve development goals, the rotary hammer designer must accurately predict the tool’s performance under various loading conditions. A mathematical model combining numerical integration techniques and FEA simulation of component impact events simulates the response of a rotary hammer from the time the tool is activated until it reaches steady state under various loading conditions.
