Simulation is gaining significance across all phases of engineering. The software is all there, but what poses problems for manufacturing enterprises is how to manage the resulting reorganization of responsibilities and workflows across the product development process. This article offers some reflections on the phenomenon and explains why taking on this change is worthwhile.
